La Tonya Woodson, PhD, CDP

Dr. Woodson is a certified consultant in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and human resources. She leads DE&I strategy and thought leadership in the areas of culture and belonging, talent acquisition, development, and retention.  Dr. Woodson is a course facilitator at Cornell University for their top ranked DE&I and HR certification programs, and vice president, D&I at an investment firm, where she is a strategic planner and designer for the firm’s global Affinity Groups. She also has extensive experience in learning and organizational development, leadership development, employee engagement, career development, and change management at Fortune 500 companies and higher education. 

Dr. Woodson is a dedicated public servant, serving as board president in her second three-year term on the Crowley ISD School Board. Additionally, she serves on the Boards of the AddRan College of Liberal Arts at Texas Christian University, the Multicultural Alliance of Texas, and Talent Acquisition Leadership Keynotes (TALK). She also serves on the Advisory Council of the Women Business Collaborative (WBC) and the North Texas Chapter of the National Diversity Council (NDC), where she was recognized as a 2022 Top DEI Global Champion. She is a graduate of the prestigious Leadership Fort Worth, an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in the city of Fort Worth and surrounding communities. Dr. Woodson is a proud Silver Star member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., where she volunteers her time and resources for numerous community service projects throughout the year. She holds a B.S. from Texas Christian University, a M.S. from Amberton University, and a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas. She is also an Executive MBA candidate at Howard University and will graduate in Summer 2023.

Outside of work, Dr. Woodson enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children, a college Junior, and a high school Junior. She also enjoys writing and public speaking. In 2019, she pinned her first co-authored book titled, Power Moms, which was inspired by her multi-faceted experiences as a working mother. Her second co-authored book, an Amazon #1 Best Seller titled, Black Women Speak Out: Stories of Racial Injustice in America, was released in September 2020, and was inspired by the recent events of racial injustices and her lived experiences of being a Black woman in America.
