Kathy Brown

Juror

Kathy J. Brown, Ph.D. is an HBCU graduate, former K-8 art teacher, practicing artist, and Assistant Professor of Art Education at the University of North Texas. Her research interests include anti-racist pedagogy, social justice in art education, art teacher narratives, cultural epistemologies/visualities and Afrofuturism. Her chosen methodologies are narrative inquiry, critical ethnography and arts-based research. As an artist she is currently working with fibers and honored to be one of four 2023 Amon Carter Community Artists.
