Tonny H. Russell was born and raised in Fort Worth Texas. He has been a multifaceted artist
since a child. He hails from Kilpatrick St. in the historic neighborhood of Lake Como. The son of
Roy and Lula Russell, he was the sixth of ten children. He is married with six children’s and 15
grandchildren. Tonny talent of writing poetry and painting pictures he has done from his youth.
Tonny has retired from the Birdville ISD, as a school Janitor in which he worked for 19 years.
Tonny's creativity is in his writing and paintings in which he has been doing since his youth. His
gift of creativity is expressed in his writing, by way of poems and short stories, which he has
been doing faithfully since 1971' This award-winning author is currently working on publishing
a book of poetry and short story. In 1998, The World of Poetry awarded Tonny Russell the
Golden Poet award for his poem, “A Legacy of Hope”. Tonny is a surrealist in his style of fine
art, his mediums are acrylic and oil on canvas and metal. Tonny serves as Pastor of Bethlehem
Missionary Baptist Church, whose mission is to save the lost. Tonny Russell is a proud member
of Stepping into Destiny Artists Guild of Fort Worth Texas. Through working with Stepping
into Destiny, he has participated in numerous events, the 1 st & 2nd Annual Fort Worth Book
Fest, 2017 & 2018, and the June 2018 ,12 Freedom Gained Juried Art Exhibition. He
also participated in the numerous Annual Juried Art Show, in which the first one he
participated he received 2 nd place. Most recently had art showing at The Christian art
museum for the month of December 2021
